The new album from Jill Scott is named "The Light of The Sun". This womanifesto contains fifteen tracks. It is Jill Scott's first album at her new record label.

The label might have changed but Jill Scott remains the same. The sex, the passion, the family, the phrasing and the fighting spirit are still alive. Guest musicians on the album are Anthony Hamilton, Eve, Doug E Fresh and Paul Wall.

The duet "So In Love" with Anthony Hamilton sometimes takes you back to de disco era. In "Shame" with Eve we go back to old skool hip-hop and it is lovely to hear the sample from Desmond's Dekker "007 Shanti Town" in it. Doug E Fresh is the human beatbox in the song "All Cried Out". It is like Jill Scott is looking back before she takes us to the here and now. One thing you can be sure of is that Jill Scott is "Blessed" as you will hear in the first track . Most of us like sex and you will get plenty of it in "So Gone", "Until Then" and "Missing You". If you like spoken word listen to the poet in "Quick" and "Womanifesto". Musical fans must listen to "Hear My Call". A nice combination of instruments and the voice as an instrument is the song "Making You Wait". Women and men alike might be impressed by the mircale of the glowing "Rolling Hills".(TA)
