The new album from Rena Scott is entitled "Take Me Away". Most of the thirteen songs on the album are written by Rena Scott and Lloyd Tolbert. Many fans around the world might be glad to hear from Rena Scott again.
Rena Scott brought some sweet soul music and disco in the seventies and eighties. You can still enjoy the songs from her of that period on a label like Buddah. On Rena Scott her new album "Take Me Away" we hear some old school love songs.
The first song "Each Day Is Better" brings back sweet memories of how being in love felt at that time. Rena Scott's rendition of "Don't Ask My Neighbours" is lovely. It might remind you of "How About Us" from Champagne. The Franky Beverly song "Joy And Pain" feels funky too when Rena Scott sings it. Rena Scott also covers "Dr.Feelgood" from Aretha Franklin in a way to make you feel good too. A really sweet disco dance song is Rena Scott's own composition "I Don't Wanna Wait". On the ballad "You Keep Trippin" Rena Scott has done a wonderful job. The lady is good in ballads. You have to listen to "Can You Stop The Rain" with Ron Brown on saxophone. The relationship between a mother and a child is meant to be as in "Thank God For You" with Rena's daughter Nina. It is nice to hear the original version of "In This Life" which was also released as a remix a few years ago.(TA)
